Enid man beaten 25-50 times with metal bat, suspect in police custody
ENID, Okla. (KFOR) – A man from Enid says he was brutally attacked by a man with a metal baseball bat and hit 25-50 times.
On March 4, officers from the Enid Police Department arrived at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid to see a seriously injured man who was having difficulty speaking due to the pain he was in.
“He had very serious injuries,” Enid PD spokesman Cass Rains said. “[The victim had] about a two inch laceration on the right side of his nose. There was also blood in the hospital bed. He had suffered a laceration on the back of his head. He also had visible bruises on his arms and hands.
The victim alleged that the injuries to his arms and hands were from defending himself while being attacked.
“He told our officer he had been hit between 25 and 50 times with the baseball bat,” Rains said.

Zackios Jacklik can be seen on police body camera video dragging the bloody bat out of his house and then laying it on the ground outside.
He told officers that he and the victim were working on a car and that the victim had attempted to steal car parts from him.
“The suspect accused [the victim] to hide car parts in the suspect’s garage with the intention of coming back later to steal them,” Rains explained.
In the body camera video, Jacklik apparently admitted to attacking without being attacked first.
“But you told us that he didn’t attack you, that he didn’t provoke you, that he didn’t attack you first? You basically hit him with the bat because he stole the car parts? we hear the officer ask.

Jacklik accepts and is then arrested. He told the police that he only hit the victim three or four times.
He now faces a charge of assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
