Reward Offered for Details on Suspect Vehicle Involved in NC Fatal Hit-and-Run | News
RUTHERFORD COUNTY, North Carolina (FOX Carolina) – Spindale Police and Rutherford County Deputies said they were looking for a suspicious vehicle accused of fatally hitting a pedestrian and driving away, according to a statement from the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the statement, Spindale Police located the victim lying in the grass near Ledbetter Road. He has been identified as Victor Antonio Whitesides of Spindale, MPs have confirmed.
Investigators at the scene recovered debris and car parts and were able to determine that the suspect vehicle was a dark old Honda Accord. A witness near the scene said the car involved in the incident was exactly as described by authorities.
Deputies say surveillance footage from the Rutherford County Correctional Center also shows a dark-colored car traveling in the direction of where the incident happened.
According to the statement, the car sustained damage to the front right and passenger side.
Rutherford County CrimeStoppers is now offering a reward to anyone who provides information leading to the suspect’s arrest.
