Dodge wants to help you get nearly 900 horsepower out of your Hellcat
Dodge is getting a whole new place where buyers can go and upgrade their cars. The new Direct Connection Performance Parts range promises a new parts catalog and a technical hotline. These factory guaranteed parts will offer some owners the chance to see their Hellcats develop up to 885 horsepower.
It’s not a small number, but let’s dive into the story a bit. In 1974, the Dodge Mopar Direct Connection was created to help owners improve the performance of their muscle cars. This is where this new program takes its name and its mission.
Every part in the new catalog is factory tested by team members who race road and drag races with their own production test vehicles and cars (pictured above) to ensure quality. This quality means that these parts also do not void your factory warranty.
This also means that there is probably only a little performance left on the table to protect the vehicle from a quick and unplanned teardown. No matter how long you’ve been tuning or building cars, there’s always a bit of trepidation in trying something that isn’t backed by the factory.
Owners will have the opportunity to choose from over 200 pieces that will be available from the start. They can even select special “recipes” that Dodge has concocted to maximize horsepower for the setting in which owners plan to drive their cars.
Surprisingly, many parts in the catalog, including the direct connection ECU tuner, are legal in 50 states. Of course, Dodge will also offer a multitude of products for “off-road” use only. This includes a supercharged HEMI 354 V8 built within NHRA specs.
Dodge’s new performance parts branch will launch in the first quarter of 2022, with deliveries before the end of the second quarter. We can’t wait to see what you all cook up with this new line of performance goodies.
