How to turn off car damage
Repeatedly resetting cosmetic damage in Forza Horizon 5 can get tedious, so this guide will explain how to permanently disable damage to the car.
Dust and damage can build up quickly when exploring the sprawling Mexican map of Forza Horizon 5. Constantly having to pause the game and reset damage is a waste of time if players don’t want to see their car in a mess.
It is much faster to just turn off damage to the car in Forza Horizon 5 permanently than it is to permanently reset cosmetic damage. This means players are free to crush as many obstacles as they want, and their car will still look as good as the day they got it.
How to turn off car damage in Forza Horizon 5
To disable damage to the car in Forza Horizon 5, players must pause the game and access the “Settings” menu, located in the “Campaign” tab. Select “Difficulty”, then go to the “Tire damage and wear” option and change it to “None”.
It doesn’t matter how many times players crash or how much dirt they accumulate while driving off-road cars through Forza Horizon 5, all vehicles will now definitely look their best. This option can always be overridden if players change their mind later. There’s even a “Simulate Damage” option that affects a car’s performance when damaged, if gamers want to test driving more realistically. Enabling “Telemetry” in the settings will display the damage suffered by each area of ââthe vehicle.
Disabling damage to cars does not prevent vehicles from getting stuck in difficult terrain, however. For this, players need to use the rewind feature or respawn in Forza Horizon 5. Rewinding can sometimes leave a car stuck in a loading screen, so it is recommended that you respawn instead. This will leave the vehicle on level ground nearby.
Another hidden mechanism that can help enhance the appearance of a vehicle is to lower a car roof into Forza Horizon 5. This can only be done with certain convertibles, but the new cosmetic feature helps add a little layer of complexity to the arcade-style racing simulation. Convertibles look even better when the damage to the car is off.
Players can even create custom liveries and designs for each vehicle in an attempt to improve its appearance. It can range from a simple color change to incredibly complex designs. The liveries can then be shared and downloaded for free by other players, but the creator will still receive credits sent daily to their inbox. If others like the design enough, they can give the designer a taste. This provides the designer with more Kudos in Forza Horizon 5.
Forza Horizon 5 is now available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S.
