It’s the American car with the best technology – 24/7 Wall St.

The automotive industry faces two challenges as technological systems become more complex. The first is that drivers find them so complicated that they don’t use them. The other is that the technology requires components that are not always available. A shortage of semiconductor chips, which includes those often used in automotive electronic systems, has severely limited what manufacturers can build. This hurt the profits of manufacturers and lowered the supply of cars and raised the prices of cars.
And, times have changed. Three decades ago, American cars were technologically primitive by today’s standards. Airbags were not obligatory until 1991. Today, progress is so advanced that people expect to have safe and self-sufficient cars by the end of the decade.
JD Power, arguably America’s most respected automotive research company, just released its U.S. Technology Experience Index 2021. He divides automotive technology into these four measures: âconvenience; emerging automation; energy and sustainability; and infotainment and connectivity. The study looked at 110,827 people with new 2021 model vehicles after owning them for 90 days.
Speaking on the use of these new technologies, Kristin Kolodge, executive director of human-machine interface at JD Power, noted, âNew vehicle prices are at an all-time high, in part due to a increased level of content. It’s fine if homeowners are getting their money’s worth, but some features seem like a waste for many homeowners.
New technology “non-users” said they did not need these features. In other words, buyers pay for features they deem unnecessary.
The cars in the study were divided into two groups: consumer cars and premium cars. JD Power rated each car brand on a 1,000 point scale.
Of all the cars, regardless of their category, Genesis, Hyundai’s luxury brand, achieved the highest rating with a rating of 634. The number is impressive in part because it did not operate separately from its company. mother in the United States. until 2015
Genesis follows the decades-long trend of traditional Asian automakers creating an independent luxury brand. This includes Lexus from Toyota, Infiniti from Nissan and Acura from Honda.
