Amelia man survives crash, hit by car multiple times: “He just wanted to kill me”

AMELIA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) – The family and friends of a man from Amelia who was hit by a car several times Tuesday night say he is a walking miracle.
Virginia State Police arrested and charged the person who allegedly hit the man near Amelia Avenue and Pridesville Road.
âHe hit the gas. He was looking at me like⦠like he was in NASCAR, like he just wanted to kill me, âsaid Treyvonte Holcomb, of the look in the driver’s eyes moments before Holcomb was knocked down.
âI can’t believe it, but here I am,â the man told 8News.
Holcomb and his family thank God for not having died after being hit by someone he says he has known since he was a child.
âOh, God is so good. God is awesome, baby. I’m so grateful that my son is alive after three hits, âHolcomb’s mother Erica Roberts said on Tuesday.
The driver, Jalen O. Jackson, 20, now faces multiple counts, including attempted murder, aggravated malicious injury and hit-and-run.
Holcomb said he was suing Jackson on Tuesday night because Jackson took $ 100 from him.
âI chased him and caught him in the car. And I shook it. And I shook it. And he backed up the car and ran over me in the yard, âhe said.
After that, Holcomb said Jackson hit him twice with the car. “And I flew through the air, I hit the car, I flew through the air, twice.”
VSP said Jackson escaped and was later found with help from the Amelia County Sheriff’s Office.
Tire ruts, car parts and a bumper were still at the scene on Wednesday.
Holcomb spent eight hours in Chippenham Hospital after the hit-and-run. He said he had bandages over stitches in his legs, a concussion and an injured pelvis.
“Anyone looking at me now?” I am a strong ox, he said.
Jackson is being held at Piedmont Regional Jail awaiting a hearing scheduled for October 4.
Virginia State Police are investigating this incident.
