Aftermarket Company Launches 2021 Ford Bronco Auto Start-Stop Eliminator
The automatic start-stop function was developed for the sole purpose of improving fuel consumption when the vehicle is at rest. But as you well know, the actual fuel savings are minimal and this feature is imposed by the automaker on the consumer without the ability to turn it off permanently.
Bronco customers now have a solution in the form of “Automatic shutdown eliminator” of TRL Automotive, LLC. from West Virginia. The plug-and-play device maintains the functionality of the on-off button and, best of all, it does not make any changes to the programming of the vehicle. Going back to the factory behavior is very simple: unplug the device, and that would be it!
Currently in stock at $ 99.99 including USPS Priority Mail shipping, this device plugs in between the wire harness leading to the switch and auto on-off button. This design involves a bit of disassembly to get to the location depicted, which brings us to the slightly more elegant alternative.
Bronco customers can still get an OBD2 device, plug it into the OBD2 port, and reprogram the auto-start-stop system with FORScan for about half the retail price of the Autostop Eliminator. Pretty simple, isn’t it?
In related news, the Ford Motor Company recently confirmed two new colors for the 2022 model year Bronco under the cover of Eruption Green Metallic and Hot Pepper Red Metallic Tintcoat. Unfortunately for some peeps, three shades will be removed to reduce the complexity of the production process. These paint colors are fast red, lightning blue, and antimatter blue.
