Shreveport crews clean up garbage and debris piles
It’s so great to see groups coming together to do good things. This is exactly what happened in the Highland and Stoner Hill neighborhoods on Monday with a sweep of the area to get rid of the rubbish and rubbish piles.
Shreveport Property Standards workers along with people from SPAR, Public Works, Shreveport Police and others came together to help get rid of garbage piles from properties across the Highland area and Stoner Hill in town.
District B Councilor LeVette Fuller has been instrumental in her district’s cleanup efforts. She has long championed improving what we have rather than expanding the city outward.
The teams picked up several loads of tree branches, tires, old equipment and all kinds of other debris. Police officers put 7-day stickers on several cars to let owners know they have a week to move dead cars or they will be impounded by the city.
